I just want to watch this one. $45,000 is way out of my league.

Its a nice set, but I just don't see it going as a whole in this economy. He'd probably do well breaking it up. Although, after putting it together, I'm not sure that I'd be able to do it.
I think he's throwing out a test balloon.
And hey - JEB didn't think that his 70 set would sell - boy wasn't he surprised!!!
Sets - 1970, 1971 and 1972
Always looking for 1972 O-PEE-CHEE Baseball in PSA 9 or 10!

Frank,
You're right. 51 out of 52 weeks in the year, my set would not have sold. It's all about luck - being in the right place at the right time. You never know who is out there looking for exactly what you have. I found out the hard way. In hindsight, I could have actually made a decent profit on the '70 set if I had listed it with a higher starting bid - I'm sure the buyer would have still purchased the set. Oh well. Knowing what I now know about the set, I'll do it again - at a much lower cost and higher grade.
JEB.
I recently sold 8 psa 8 commons (high pops) to a large well known dealer for 100% of smr. I know 54's are selling very well and smr just went up about 15%-20% for 7's. They aren't selling this well...if this set sells, mine is next for sure! No way Baby...
ACOWA! your set is worth at least 25k.
Actual smr for this set is between 23-25k. He's looking for a hefty payday. SMR in straight 8 is $39,420.
Only a couple of cards remain to put you into the top 5. yeah right about 80+ cards and 15K will do it.
