I'm a seated person at the moment, but I don't need any advice, thanks.

Looks like a real Seated quarter to me. Proof? Who knows? Maybe.

Pretty coin, but raw, and I smell snake oil, here.

One out of every thirteen unique feedbacks are either neutral or negative. Of course a coin like this one should be in a slab if it is going to be sold on Ebay. What a cheesey explanation for not being in a slab: "Why pay for what I already know?" Gime me a break.

I saw the coin several days ago when it first popped up and laughed my head off. Go to the casino where you at least have some chance of success before you decide to bid on that coin.
    Go well.

It's a real coin. Maybe proof, maybe not. Can't say from the scan.

    Nope, not the proof.
    It's a business strike.
Tthe reason I know it's not the proof, is the date is too low.

ITS REAL, MAY BE A PROOF, BUT GEM IT IS NOT! I HAVE HANDLED 3 58 PROOFS IN THE LAST 2 YEARS AND THEY ALL HAD THE LINT MARKS HE STATES, BUT THIS COIN HAS MORE THEN JUST LINT MARKS IN THE FIELDS IMHO. I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM IT. I CAN'T GET THE REVERSE PIC TO LOAD, IF THE REVERSE HAS THE COMPASS POINT THEN ITS NOT A PROOF.

I would be leary of this being a genuine proof. The characteristic die crack on the reverse is not visible, nor does the date on the obverse appear to slant down, left to right. Always a chance that it is...but, I would suggest a very small chance in this case.

.....by the way, Larry Briggs states in his book that this date often comes very well struck with sharp wire rims, characteristic of some proof issues. One more reason I would be very reluctant to take the chance.

There are two different coins pictured. Which one is the real one or the actual one being auctioned?

I agree with Sinin1 -- The obverse of the coin looks strange as if it's been polished.

However, the reverse of the coin doesn't have the same appearance (to me) from the photos.
