There are of course very few of those. I never even look for the 69-s DDO. Do they come in rolls bags or were they a short lived thing right out of circulation in 69'? What is the price range?
"Do they come in rolls bags or were they a short lived thing right out of circulation in 69'?"
I honestly don't know & perhaps I should since I'm prepared to spend upwards of 20k for one.
"What is the price range?"
These are my MINIMUM buy prices (for PCGS graded pieces) with some links to past sales (pops in parenthesis):
1969-S DDO BN: VG-VF (1) Call, XF45 $7500 (1) h , AU50 $8,500 (2), AU55 $10,000 (5) b (raw), AU 58 $12,500 (5) h , MS62 $15,000 (1) 1969-S DDO RB: MS62$17,500 h (1) 1969-S DDO RD 64 (1) & 65 (1) : Don't want to sell my house for these plus unlikely to hit the market any time soon.
Stewart has all of those Doubled Dies. His 69-S and 70-S are awesome. Since he doesn't seem to want to register a memorial set, maybe you can get him to sell them.

If Stewart has the 69S DD and its awesome and Onrutton's set is 100% red, according to my math that means a RB and 99% red rating is the best that can be had! I am depressed
Any coin you enter in that set (even if it is a RB or BN) will show up as red in the total % red. There is a glitch in the PCGS programming for that set.
<< <i>Look at that average grade. If I get the 69-S DD in ANY grade I'll be way ahead (I think). >>
By using the awesome power of something I like to call "math" I have determined that if you settle for anything less than an AU53-AU55 you're going to be rather annoyed when you enter it into your set, redcents.

Do not fall into the error of the artisan who boasts of twenty years experience in his craft while in fact he has had only one year of experience... twenty times.
<< <i>Does your model account for any, ahem, other potential upgrades and their affect on the "required" grade the 69-S DD has to be in? >>
Oops, sorry no it doesn't. But seeing as how both sets are hidden who knows which one has an easier upgrade path ahead...

Mark, I TRULY hope you do. I'd be the first to kiss you if you did (not that there's anything wrong with that)
Maybe he will do that again and put you back on top

Well that's an easy one to answer - I DO - for at least 1 of them
