Home PCGS Set Registry Forum

I have decided, for the betterment of the PCGS Set Registry Forum...

I will no longer be listing my auctions on this forum. Call it what you like, the main reason I came to this conclusion is that I do not want to continue to stir up so much anger and animosity. Whether right or wrong, I do not want to make anyone angry, and it is evident that there are some people that are upset over my posting links to my auctions.

I have not made up my mind on posting straight up sales of high end PCGS registry coins, but am leaning toward the same conclusion. I am open to comments, through replies for discussion or privately through pm.

I will be limiting my auction posts to the BST coin forum. Also, I am kicking around the idea of individually pm'ing a reminder link to people that would prefer to have a direct link to PCGS coins I have for sale or for auction, instead of wading through the BST coin forum. When this came up a few months ago, I received several pm's and saw some replies to the threads that they did not like wading through multiple threads in the BST coin forum since most were for raw or non-PCGS coins. I would be happy to continue a non BST coin forum thread for my auctions and sales, just not here. I think the best action would be to go through pm. So if you would like a reminder pm with a direct link, just drop me a note.

As for posting here - JUST PUT "REGISTRY WORTHY" image (assuming it is) in the title - Mitch says (in his expert legal opinion) that "disclaimer" eliminates all potential liability, etc... image

As for the "wading" problem, if you got it known as common knowledge that ALL your BST listings had, say, "M&M" or "mnm" or "mnmcoin" or whatever in the title, than people could just search for that keyword to make all your listings pop up to the top (sorta like for many of my listings you could just do a search on "TOP POP" image )

Of course, PM'ing people that want you to keep them informed is always a good idea - if you can keep up with it.

Morris: Good idea. I have about 300 coins running on ebay right now myself and also will not link them here. However, if you have a neat Registry coin to sell to the Registry board members, by all means, please offer it here! image

    Personally,

I have no problem reading about sells if they are "Registry Worthy." And by registry worthy, my thoughts are in the finest or one grade away from finest known. I rarely post for sell coins in the Registry Forum, but you can bet that when I make that 1953-P cent in 67RD (that Mitch has been trying to make), I'll certainly post it on this board image.

One thing I have noticed is that there are some sellers that will post on the registry forum and not on the BST forum. Well, since I do more looking through the BST forum for coin sells, I tend to miss the ones on the Registry forum.

I would not bother posting any Jeffersons here I need - just send me a PM and I will gladly take it off your hands.image

I would continue to post registry quality coins on this board.

    Morris,

It does not matter to me if you post coins for sale or not on these boards. There always seems to be someone to ruin it for everyone else.

    Morris:

I agree with your action. I have never liked threads linking to ebay auctions. I do think you should continue to list coins that you want to sell direct to the Board.

    Have you decided yet? image
  • Thanks for all the replies. Based on all the replies I have received, I think I will continue to list pop top coins for sale here first before I look to market them other ways.

    thanks again

I see Wallstreetman and his new handle decided to also drop by this forum.
