I do believe this is the highest I've seen this card go.

    since levi sells 'em for 750 a pop and they usually run 4-500
    i'ld say someone is laughing to the bank.

    About 7 months ago, a few 64 Roses went for 700-800 on ebay. They were very nice cards. I have not seen that many nice ones since, so 1K is not that bad. If you follow SMR on cards you want, you are going to fall short more times than not.

    This auction is the poster child for sniping services. Zigomatic was high bid at $325.75 and rseegs outbid him. The next day, "zig" ran seegs up $100 at a time until he figured he'd stick him at a grand.

    Had seegs sniped, he'd have won it for about $410.

    I hope this calms down all the Rose fans for a day or two.

    On the other hand, it was a nicely centered example. This card brings a premium when they come centered.

    There is no guarantee that a snipe bid would of resulted in a top bid of $410. I do agree that
    sniping is usually the way to go to keep costs down and prevent someone from running you up.

    That is a very nice example. While 1000 seems a bit zealous, a real nice '64 Rose can be a centerpiece for a collection. I hope the bidder is pleased with his/her card...I know the seller is pleased with his bid. It will be interesting to note the amount of copycat listers hoping to get in on the action. I had actually planned to list a very nice example of this card the first week of October. That will have to wait, it appears, as we may see many copies in the near future.

    So you decide, rather than avoiding the same trap, to perpetuate the cycle and get angry and hateful over minor things because someone has done that to your friends?

    The Rose card is a nice card , but not worth $1,000.00 - boy thats alot of money for one card ! With a little patience , this card can be had for the SMR PRICE OF $500.00 ! I think I'll just admire my O/C excellent card for alwhile longer ! As for Qtisco , are you going to accuse me of mistreating animals because I have a picture of a dog drinking out of a toilet !     I guarantee you that, had the high bidder used a sniping service, the final price would have still been well north of $410 image. But I agree it probably wouldn't have ended up at a grand ...
