1975 Topps BB PSA 8 market

I don't follow this set but have collected it raw and think it is a great set. I thought a few days ago that I read a post here that said this market is in currently terrible shape. I think the quote was something like "can't give away a PSA 8 for $5". Is this true? Couldn't find the remark when I went searching so maybe it was just another LSD flashback caused by looking at those 75 borders. I know this is THE most widely collected set and assume that the remark was a joke or at least a large understatement. Did anybody else see this? What is the current state of the 75 market?

1) It is a very attractive and popular set with a great group of rookie cards and
2) It is the 1st PSA "modern" set which means that submission prices are lower than 1974 and prior ($6/card for bulk submissions). So therefore, alot of '75 get submitted which increase supply. If demand wasn't so great, prices would be even lower than they are now.

1974 Topps Baseball PSA 8+
Knowledge speaks, wisdom listens
2005 Origins Old Judge Brown #/20 and Black 1/1s, 2000 Ultimate Victory Gold #/25
2004 UD Legends Bake McBride autos & parallels, and 1974 Topps #601 PSA 9
Rare Grady Sizemore parallels, printing plates, autographs
Nothing on ebay
The common market is at about $6-$7, but at $10 each to get graded, that's a losing proposition for submitters. Finally, many of these $5 cards carry a ridiculous $3-$4 shipping fee with insurance extra, so they aren't really just selling for $5. I have a huge chunk of these leftover that I will be selling in a large mass should things fall through on a deal I'm working on.

Owner's Comments:
Why I am I collecting these? I really don't know. I sold all of my other cards so I could buy a new car and make some home improvements. Now I find myself being drawn back to this insane collecting of cardboard heroes, paying money for baseball cards that my wife is none too pleased that I am buying. But I find myself rambling . . . I "sorta" collected these as a kid. I was going into the 10th grade when these came out, and in the Seattle, Washington area where I lived, they only sold the mini versions. I felt that Topps was gypping me with miniature cards, so I never really bought that many and this ended up being the last year I really bought cards by the pack. So why am I collecting these now? Because I'm sick in the head -- that's why! They are kinda cool with their nasty, colored borders and there are alot of the stars from when I was really into baseball. Anyway, at the risk of cracking the limit of 2,000 words that I can post here, I will terminate this description.

You become Governor, I'll move back to CA.
<< <i>Sold all 15 some at a profit most to one bidder can't complain half of were cards I listed back in June that didn't even get a nibble. Thought the low pop Gilbreath would have gotten a little more play just 2 bids, there are only 10-8's + 6-9's one of which is in my set. I don't know if there is even 2 dozen of us actively collecting 75's. All in all >>
Tbub,
Thanks! I thought the Gilbreath at $8.50 was a good deal (Snipe was a bit higher).
I got outsniped on a few others. Sorry, I'm building this set slowly and cheaply. I don't care if I get outsniped at $9 for a PSA 8 common.
JEB.
Thanks!

Good thing I didn't do anything with your feedback.
How about we do this out of court and get back your 51Bowman set as a settlement.
