1953s Roosie Questions.....Help!!

Hello All,

Just opened an original Bank roll of 53s dimes. Here's my question.....Is the S mintmark typically filled or full of strange marks. I have 20-30 that almost look like they are minted over something.....almost looks like a D? I appreciate all the expert opinions. By the way, they are beauties!! I can't post pics but would be willing to send them away to you if you are a Dime expert for opinions. Please PM me.

I know exactly what you mean...lots of s-dimes from this era have what appears to be an under m/m but it's usually just die deterioration.

I'm not a Roosey expert, or even collector, but it just so happens I have a '53-S right here. I also did a double take when I saw the mint mark. It looks flat, I checked for another MM under it but it just seems flat.
