My first trimmed common

Well I just got my first "trimmed" 1975 Topps common. That is crap. Nobody takes a knife to a 50 cent card to sell it for 60 cents. The grader should have labeled it something else so that I would have gotten my $6 back. Labeling it trimmed is an excuse to keep my grading fee. If somebody at PSA is reading this, please pass on some advice. I'm not real mad though, it's only $6, and the rest of the batch was graded well.

  • The point of taking a knife to a common isn't to take the card's value from 50 cents to 60, it's to take it from being a 3 dollar PSA 7 to a who-knows-how many dollar PSA 9. I catch '71 commons that have been colored all the time. People will do anything.

I truly believe Wabbit. The graders use that label way too often. I have a real hard time seeing anyone cutting a 75 common. Any little chip makes it an 8 at best. 9's go for a whopping $15, and anyone who wants 75 7's at $3 can have all the ones I get for that. I cant get $5 for 8's.
  • Hey Steve Can we check out the submission I'm down to 35 cards to go ? Thanks Tom

Sure, the submission number is 8040698. The first half of the submission is 1975's, the rest is oddball stuff. All are for sale except for 2 cards that I offered to another set registry participant, the Johnny Grubb PSA 9 and the Stolen Base Leaders PSA 9.
