Why would anyone pay over $100 for a MS66 1973-S Ike???
Obviously the title implies no mint mark, which would make this coin cheap.
Kind of deceptive in my opinion.

I think that this bidder has not realized that the coin is probably only worth less than $30.00 I don't think you are missing anything. I did want this coin on ebay but it went too high for me. I figured about $275.00 would be a good price to be into that coin.

Interesting, at least two different bidders have bid over $100 for a coin worth about $20.
Looks like either:
1. they both think it is a 73p, or
2. they each bought a 1940p MS68 cent and had a little pocket change left over ...
I love Ike dollars and all other dollar series !!!
I also love Major Circulation Strike Type Sets, clad Washingtons ('65 to '98) and key date coins !!!!!
If ignorance is bliss, shouldn't we have more happy people ??
A nice 76-D Type I in 66 is worth at least $350.
The on pictured looks pretty nice in the scans and well struck.
The thing with Ikes in high grade, is when they are nice, they bring good $$$$, and the converse is true for the same date/grade.

No doubt you are correct. Seems like the price guides on almost everything else is so out of wack (C.U. $390.00 and Coin World $475.00 for this ty-1), but the Ikes in some dates appear to be under valued. The only thing I was trying to do was, set a price and stick to it. Truth is I talked myself into going $375.00 (a lot of stuff runs through your mind the last 10 seconds), but thought to long
Cheers and thank you!
