Hey all,
I am usually not really big on Jefferson Nickels but I bought this in a heartbeat. Tried getting good pics of them but no luck...
This album has been sitting away for the last 40 years and the coins show it. Nickel is so hard to tone but this album got it done. The nickel coins are toned (generally) concentrically from gold to blue to rose. The silver alloy war nickels go from powder blue to yellow.
Some have green irridescence in them as well. Only bad thing I can say is that the 42-S and the 44P have a corrosion spot on them and the 43D has a planchet lamination that was so common with this alloy.
The really choice coins, with a combination of great toning and good surfaces are the 38-D, 39-D, 40-D, 41-D, 42, 42-D, the reverse on the 43-D could be a plate coin, 44-S, 46 is a knockout, 47, 47-D, 48, 48-D, 49-D, 49-S, 50, 50-D, 51-D, 53-D, 54-S (typical weak strike), and 55.
Each of those coins are legitimate 50$ coins with the 39-D being 100$+.
Pls dont ask me to break them up. I will not. Selling as a set. 600$ for the set.
three day return priv as usual. You will not be dissapointed with this set and if you are, send it back.
V/r,
John
