  • Nick, I remember when you were 25th too! I think I was 20th back then. At first it was a little depressing to watch you kick in the afterburners and blow by everybody, but after the dust settled, it was kinda inspiring. Your cruise to the top was the cause of much of the upgrading at the time.
  • What is the deal with Dan Biddle? His top set has no FB coins. I suspect he has at least 1 in the group.
  • Daniel Biddle has been inactive for quite awhile. I haven't seen him upgrade any coins since I first started my set.

Waldo, I recall some posts by DB back in March when the FB designation was announced. Although he has 3 or 4 complete sets on the Registry, I recall him saying he has 5 complete MS67 sets and over 500 MS67 dimes! From his posts, he wasn't happy about the way PCGS was administering the FB designation specific to Registry participants who got FREE designation review for coins in their Registry sets. His issue was, as I recall, that the coins in the Registry sets weren't the coins he'd submit and that he should be able to submit 4 sets (Registry sets and the SN's shouldn't have to match the Registry coins, after all, 48 coins is 48 coins). PCGS basically said no - only the Registry SN's can be submitted for FREE if done by 7/1/03. Well, that date has passed and his set still doesn't show any FB's and I know he was focused on FB coins so I might hazard a guess that he's boycotted submitting his dimes OR just in no hurry - waiting to see the pop's and bonus points before deciding which coins to submit. Imagine if he has several 1957P and/or 1958P MS67 coins that would get FB designation. It could be in his best interest to see how many coins get made April 1 - September (so far 0) and then make his coins! Who knows ........ but I gotta believe he has some and perhaps....lots!

Craig, I don't believe Danny waiting to send in his sets works to his advantage. He lost out on almost
$1500 worth of free grading and the rest of his dimes could have been done for $5 a pop if sent in before
4/30/02. Thats another $1750 he could have saved. I think he just quit and is waiting for the right time to
sell.. At that time he may send them in for FB review or just sell them as they are. Right now it would cost
him $5k to send them in. Another senerio is that after close inspection of his dimes he may not have had that
many FB's and it just discourged him. I remember him saying in a post quite a few were purchased for there toning
and not strike. I still would find it hard to believe that out of 500 MS67 dimes he wouldn't have at least one
complete FB set. I think PCGS is a lot tougher on giving the FB designation now then they were at the beginning.

Waldo, Thanks for the kind words. Before I was on this registry my set was registered on the NGC registry. At my
peak I had 40 NGC MS68 (some with * some without) Roosies. Odds were in my favor that I had to have some that
would cross. I still have quite a few in NGC holders that are superb, but haven't crossed yet for what ever reason.
The ultimate Roosie set is registered across the street because it includes all my best dimes, Both NGC & PCGS.
Check it out when you get a chance.
