Registry Etiquette

Is it considered proper to offer someone in the set registry cards they need for a set via email? Or should I simply post via the BST board.

Thanks.

If the email address is visible it's not bad to try.
I've met lots of folks this way and had many positive trades take place.
  • Yes! Please do that - especially if it's a card I need for one of my sets. image

I rarely go to the BST board. I would much rather have someone email me - I've had much success with these transactions.

    JEB.
  • I've purchased a few cards from members that have view my sets. I have no problem with it. If I did, I wouldn't make my email address available.

That's why I put my email there in the first place. Go for it.

  • I am definitely emailable (is that a word?) when it comes to my valued 69's.

Ditto -- I've sold and bought many times that way. If they are pre-1980 or so, the Vintage board is pretty good for getting some interest as well.

Just to be clear: Any offers that I get from Dave Vargha are immediately forwarded to the FBI...
so that he can one day be brought to justice. I feel it is my duty as an American.

I dont mind offers. I agree it is half the reason I made it avaliable. I have had a few offers and closed on a few and passed on a few. No harm from a polite email.

    Dave,

Hopefully the National will go west one of these years so I can give it my best shot.

  • I certainly do not mind getting offers for
PSA graded cards from other registry members

What I hate is when spammers just troll through
the registry for email address and then either
spam them with their entire inventory and/or
push a bunch of raw cards on you...

it is these guys who you do not know and are not
in the registry or even on these boards, that DO
    bother me.

If one of You guys is offering, then I am all ears,
but someone I do not know with raw garbage... no thanks!

    I encourage emails with offers...

I have my email address available here on the subject line and on every set I list on the Registry.

Trading Registry items are very much a part of these boards, however, like BKAH states...nothing pi$$es a member off more than "garbage spam". You know the junk....

    Good luck on emails !!

Thanks all for the replies. I wouldn't offer raw cards to registry members.
