It's worth whatever the seller is willing to sell it for, if that is also the price the best buyer wants to pay. For a pop 2, who knows, but I would say $8k to $10K would be a start.

I have seen top pop 2 coins go for anything from $5,500 to $16,000. My personal opinion on this one ... $7,000 unless the demand side of the equation is very demanding ...

Mark: Yes, it is.

To be totally candid, you really never know exactly what a coin was "bid up to", because it is my understand (you can check with Heritage on this to be certain) that Heritage moves up the Signature sale coins on the internet to within 1 bid level of the consignor's reserve (if there is one) within a few days of the actual live auction.
Assuming that is the case, the 74(s) would have been available for roughly $10k or perhaps a bit more.

Mark and Mitch,

I am aware of the heritage coin. I believe this was just made and I wanted to be sure of trends before blowing my brains out.

I love you guys, 8 grand -- 9 grand -- the skies the limit. Meantime, I should just keep my mouth shut.

By the way, my daughter has started school at USC in LA and I am now doing business up and down West Coast - so I will get you both to spend some of that 9 grand money and buy me dinner in LA..

I hate you guys, you have the best weather in the world...

I stand corrected, I was just scanning by birth year (occassionally do that) and found this pop 2 coin for $30,000.

I can now say I have seen pop 2 coins from $5,500 to $30,000, though I have not seen the $30k price achieved yet (but there is a little over 20 minutes left) ...

As a former owner of a PCGS MS69 1972-S IKE & the original submitter of that coin I would value the PCGS MS69 1974-S at $10,000+

I heard nothing myself about a 3rd coin either - perhaps the coin that was originally referenced in this post was the Heritage coin? Of course, there may have been a 3rd coin graded recently - that is always a possibility.
