Complete Irish predecimal coin collection for sale or trade, three Dansco albums

Link to the collection, as posted on the World Coin Forum (links to pics there)

This is one of very few complete collections of the predecimal Irish Free State/Irish Republic coins, I would imagine. It does not include the optional 1943 florin (of which only 25-35 are known), but does include a 1943 halfcrown (one of about 500 known). Date ranges are from 1928 to 1969. Nine denominations are represented. This is not only a complete type set, but a complete type AND date set; all the regular issues, with the exception of the ultra rare 1943 florin, as I just mentioned.

Estimated total catalog value for the entire collection is close to $7,500.00, based on 2002 Krause prices, but real-world market value is admittedly a bit less (though one could possibly get more if the coins were sold individually). I have about $2,500.00 and two years in the collection. Several of the coins are grade rarities and were cracked out of ANACS slabs to put them in the albums. I still have the slab inserts.

Irish coins feature a lot of low mintages. If you will look at the farthings, for example, you'll notice that even the most common-date coins, with the exception of the 1939, are rarer than the key-date US 1909-S VDB Lincoln cent (480,000 versus 484,000). And yet these coins trade at tiny fractions of what the US coins do. Why? Simple demand. These are "foreign" or "Darkside" coins, and not as many people are into that. But Irish coins are among the more popularly sought-after world coins, right behind the British and Canadian ones. After all, there are many American collectors who are of Irish descent (myself included).

I'll consider any offer within a few dollars of my cost, or trades of US classic type coins and/or gold, or maybe some high-caliber world coin singles. Basically, I built this collection for fun, but always intended to sell it off when it was complete, to buy more marketable material for my booth at the mall. This project was sort of a "savings account" for me, and the thrill of the hunt was enjoyable, but I will leave the thrill of hunting upgrades to the next owner. It's a strong start in Irish coins, and with some upgrading and maybe the addition of the optional, super-rare '43 florin, it could be a REAL show-stopper.
