Wanted: super-LOW grade Morgan CCs!

As crazy as it sounds, I'm looking for problem-free, original CC Morgans with massive amounts of wear... coins that will be sent to PCGS and hopefully grade Fair-02 or Poor-01. Sorry, but AG-03 is too nice for me!

Still need: 1878-CC 1880-CC 1881-CC 1884-CC 1889-CC 1891-CC 1892-CC 1893-CC.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Thanks Larry!!

I knew I could count on you!

  • How many did you get from the Teletrade auction a few days ago?? There were several nice 02's.

I bid on everything but the 1879-CC and 1882-CC (already had those). I got one of the 1883-CCs and the 1885-CC... which I think was the real plum of the group. I was the underbidder on all the rest.

I sure would like to know the story behind that little group of coins!

  • It was an interesting group. The 85 had a nice look to it. I got the other 83, and got slammed on the 79 at the last minute. If you ever get any duplicates, let me know. I'll do the same. Gotta be 2's or down. Later, CCG

    CGC:

Be glad to help any time I can. As you've already discovered, finding really low-grade CCs that will go into PCGS holders is no easy task!

  • I have a raw 91-CC that I think would grade PO01 or FR02. Three obverse stars are worn out, while the reverse "ONE" and "OF" are also worn out. It is light gray with good rims. I also have a raw 89-CC that I think would grade FR02 or AG03. It is medium gray with good rims. I don't know if PCGS would grade either of these. I'm trying to upgrade both of these, and this would help me out tremendously!

    Larry:

Just think of it as a mid-life crisis following the sale of my set -- It defies logical explanation.

But I can say this: Finding worn-out coins is at least as hard as finding PQ coins... it's every bit as much fun... and it's WAAAAY easier on the checkbook!

Did you see I've got your 1897-S MS64PL up for sale on eBay?
