PSA Submission Question

I am sorry if this is the wrong forum but I really only post here for my 1969 Topps MLB set. So please forgive me. I am wondering if PSA grades the newer game used bat cards. These are the thicker cards with game used memorabilia in them. I have an apperantly Mint bat card of Andruw Jones. This is a Upper Deck Vintage Gold Version #'d 04/50. I would love to have it graded but not sure if PSA does this because of the thickness. Please let me know if they do this.

thank you for the help,

glen

The new holder that is supposedly going to debut fairly soon apparently allows for these thicker cards, according to Joe Orlando,....... so you might have to wait, but I don't know about the current holder.
  • I've had a number of cards returned because of their thickness, so I would doubt it.
Delighted to hear about the new holder. Will it hold Sweet Spot autographs ( the ones with a slice of autographed baesball in them)? Now they're thick!

    Mike Payne's 300 Great Cards
    MVPs in their MVP years
    and T206???
  • You never know until you try. This card was rejected once, because of the thickness in the cardboard stock, so I asked the PSA personal how thick does a card have to be that it will come slabbed, they told me it has to be 3 cards thick, so I remeasured the card and it was slightly over the requirement, but send it off anyways with a bunch of other cards and this time it was returned in a slab. I needed it for my set and it seems I'm the only one who has them slabbed. And yes, I have two of them.

  • This one is also a pretty thick card, I kind of waited awhile before I decided to send this one off, to my surprise it came back slabbed.

  • When i asked psa about the sweet spot autographs they said they were too thick, i think it was peter ma who told me to take 3 regular cards and stack them up, that's pushing the max for thickness. I have had some 02 ud piece of history game bats slabbed and some topps tribute memorables materials also, also had some 02 ud sweet spot classics bat and jerseys slabbed so i don't think they are too thick. definitely a no-no on the sweet spot auto's though. i wish they would, i've got a gorgeous 02 ssc koufax autograph numbered 24 of 25 i'd like immortalized.

I just mailed off a fleer "feel the game " . I sent PSA a Matt Williams bat card for my daughter I will see how it go's.
Every one of mine submissions she gets to send in a card.
