I got another Dollar board that I am going to stick a Dolley Madison in. That coin should look great with Wayte Raymond toning on it.

    Nice assortment!
so where you gonna store them?

    A. In a bank safe, I've got 30+ years and am a purist. imageimage
    B. On the bookshelf, a 20 year patina will be nice. imageimage
    C. In the kitchen cabinet for about 10 years of color image
    D. In the laundry room for 5 years image
    E. In the Garage for 3 years. imageimageimage
    F. In the bathroom for a year. image
    G. In a box for a few months with a damp sponge. image
    or
    H. In the oven for an hour at 250, repeat as necessary. imageimageimageimage

Go for the bathroom the toning will look more natural and youll get it slabbed. The over they know about. Try wetting the cardboard with chemicals and sticking it on top of a water heater.

I hear that this works well, particularly if you use a nice glaze of butter and garlic image

Good luck with the natural toning!

Nope, you have it all wrong. If you don't have the proper coins for the proper slots, the coins will revolt, and will not allow themselves to obtain any color. I can see them putting on the sunscreen now.
You better fix this problem now, before the frustration of having to watch white coins stay white for 25 years. image

Cosmic, did those go into Acetone or anything before the folder? I've got some quarters that have been in for maybe a year that aren't really toning at all image.

I've also got a 72 space half book and 5 10slot replacement pages for half dollars I need to fill. (Both unused image)

Hello, I'm new to the forum. I collect Morgan dollars and Walkers. I have two nice PCGS registry sets of mostly toned coins under the Gary Sullivan Collection with pictures to view most of my coins. I will attempt to download pics of three raw Wayte walkers I won on Ebay a few months ago. We'll see what David has to say about whether they will slab when I go to Long Beach in a few weeks. Could these be considered artfully toned and be rejected?

Interesting. Any others developing rim toning similar to the botanic, Bill?
    Thanks for the update.

For those who've used both long term-is there a noticable difference between the WR and Dansco in terms of toning?

It's the only one so far like that. Some coins have not toned at all. But there is a Barber dime that is developing some really nice golden rim toning.

I love Wayte Raymond Albums! I like the fact each page is seperate! Toning is an added bonus. You coins are sure taking there time toning.

Here is one I had in a Wayte Raymond for about 6 months or so before I moved it to my other album...

The problem with toning coins is that beauty lies only in the eye of the beholder. Most toning I see I do not see as eye-appealing.

If you collect what you like how is that a problem? If you are the beholder and don't like the look you don't buy and vice versa. image

I have been putting some state quarters in Wayte Raymond albums for about 4 years. So far nothing to very little has happened. These a nickel clad quarters and that has to take longer to tone.

Why are you subjecting pristine coins to irreversible changes to the metal? Let's go store that mint condition 1965 Mustang on a boat dock for a few years....

HAH! You goofed! They're in the wrong HOLES! They will be toned in the improper series.
