coin shop find

I stopped by my local coin shop for "bid board night" tonight (tuesday) and chatted with the dealer about any new material that came in. He took out a box of about 30 proof sets from 1958-62 that he had just bought from a "walk in." He didnt have a chance to go through them yet, but knowing my interest in proof washingtons he said "go ahead, and search for some cameos."
I went through the sets, and found six 1960 quarters that were well frosted, also showing nice clean mirrors.
It's been a while since Ive looked at non-rainbow coins, so this experience got me back to my "roots" of proof washingtons. I really enjoyed myself.
I narrowed the six down to four, and the dealer allowed me to cut the four washingtons out of the mint packaging. gosh, those coins just shimmered when they were on the velvet.
my price -- eleven dollars each for the four 1960 proofs.
Im going to submit them and HOPE for a CAM or DCAM designation. I say "hope" because the frosting is NOT the deepest Ive seen or had before, and I know that pcgs is very strict on cam and dcam designations.
anyway, it was fun to get back to the way I used to collect, and I think it was amazing that coins this nice were still in their original mint envelopes and packaging and were waiting to be "discovered."
if they dont get cam or dcam designations, I know these will be pr69 examples. Im just hoping for the "bonus."
cheers, alan mendelson

In the end 20 of the 22 Washingtons reside in primarily PR67CAM & PR68CAM holders. 2 missed CAM, and 1 was 66CAM.
Great fun!
