I added images to my Registry set

I just got done adding some pics to my registry set and would like to ask for some of your opinions on my photos.

I have not taken any pictures of the 42 T-1 because I use a different set up to take pictures of the coins with toning. I just purchased an upgrade for the 1954 so I do not see any reason to take pics of the old PR-66 for the set. The hazy look on the 1950 is toning that did not show up in the picture.
All of your opinions are appreciated. The opinions will help me in trying to make the pics better for the future. Alsoif any of you have any tips to share in taking better pictures for my set please share them.image

Nice, sharp well-composed pictures. You have captured the mirrors particularly well. A bit more brightness might help the toned coins stand out even better. In general, I like the composition without the piece of the PCGS label better.

On my monitor nearly all the images (including plastic from the slabs) have a light, pinkish-brown tinge. I don't know if this is just my (portable LCD) monitor or not. If it is present on you monitor, you might try tweaking the color a bit.

What camera are you using? And what are some of the details of your setup, for the toned and for the white coins? Thanks.

  • Thanks for the advice coolkarma. The images do have the pinkish color that you noticed. I messed with the color a little but will not be able to add the different pics to the set until I get back over to my mother's house. For some reason I can not do anything with the registry set on the Mac that my father has at his house.
The camera that I am using is an Olympus C-4000. The set up that I am using for the white coins is a copy stand that has two 60 watt light bulbs. I have a white bowl with a hole in the top to diffuse the light. I somple put the bowl over top of the coin and then put the lense of the camera through the hole in the bowl. I then just takes pictures with both light aiming in two different places on the bowl.

When I am at my mother's house I take the pictures of the coins with toning. At her house I use a Sony MVC-FD75. It is not the best camera but I do not ever take my father's camera over with me so I use that camera. I use 3 desk lamps with 40 watt light bulbs. I also use another lamp with a 100 watt light bulb. I use basically the same set up with the bowl with a whole in the top. The only difference is that I us more lights and a black background. image
