Surf's Up

Raining here in NY. Surfin' EBAY for my Baseball sets. Disappointed by the lack of vintage SGC and GAI. I have nothing against either company, having bought many of their cards in the past for PSA crossover. The numbers, however, are just not there for GAI and SGC.

1953 Bowman Color: PSA 8 20 cards GAI 8 0 cards SGC 88 0 cards.

1953 Topps: PSA 8 19 cards GAI 8 1 card SGC 88 0 cards

1957 Topps: PSA 8 86 cards GAI 8 0 cards SGC 88 0 cards

1960 Topps: PSA 8 72 cards GAI 8 0 cards SGC 88 1 card

1961 Topps: PSA 8 147 cards GAI 8 0 cards SGC 88 1 card.

I know it's just 5 random sets, but those are some ugly numbers.

Frank - if you'd bother to read the other boards,
you'd know that it's because people who have their cards in other holders,
LOVE their cards and the slabs they're in SO MUCH, that they can't even stand the THOUGHT of parting with them.

Hence; one seldom finds them up for auction. image

Wolfbear...I never thought of the "rarity" issue. Those babies are scarce; I'll be scooping them up on EBAY as fast as they show up!image

Just try finding some of those in PRO holders or even those giant, blue CSA holders. Now there's some rarity!
  • David,

That is so true no one would ddare to ever send a Mere NM/Mt card of these issues to those prestigious grading companies only the mint and gem mint ones with the real tight borders image
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass... it's about learning to dance in the rain.
  • Mantlefan you need to consider 1967's. It's best to wait until they get relisted and start at $1.00. Bubba includes the 1st graded premium.

Ouch...$1 for First Graded GAI 8 Bubba. Good thing he gets $6 for shipping!
