PCGS is making coins: 8 out of 9 cross - results here!!!

Submitted 9 NGC Roosevelt dimes (8x MS67 and 1x MS68) and all 8x MS67's crossed. I've tried several of these previously and though I generally am about 50% successful in crossing dimes, PCGS must have loosened up a bit since ALL the MS67's crossed. The submission numbers are: 9011087 and 3018740................a couple of new beauties for my registry set (the 1946S MS67FB). BTW - all the coins are Blue toned except the 1947P which is a gorgeous rainbow - pic attached.

I dont usually like dimes, too small. However, that 47 is a real wowser.

It should be put in a display case all by its self. Absolutely lovely.

I don't think PCGS has a problem crossing high quality coins when they look like that 47P.
Nice job Craig, Now which ones are for sale?image

Nick - I like the new icon - its Blue, my favorite! Find me an MS68 no-bands that looks like that!

    Nice!

All of a sudden, we're getting a flurry of NGC crossover successes--after a period of abysmal efforts. Maybe they've decided to start crossing the 66.5s instead of just the 66.75s!

    Craig,

You must have a great eye to have that many cross. That one is a wowzer.
  • That confirms my observation that PCGS has loosened up their grading standard for MS67 roosevelts.
A few years ago, a roosie could not have tics on the portrait and still grade ms67. Now, that is no longer the case, especially if the coin has great eye-appeal.

  • Bushmaster8,

I agree that PCGS has loosened a bit too. I just had a batch of 14 out of 15 NGC/ANACS/and ICG coins all cross into PCGS 67 holders. All PQ coins but more than three-quarters hadn't crossed the last time I tried.

    Just my opinion.

  • Thanks Craig,

They were some very nice coins and a few better dates (54-D,55-S,56-D) but all were toned, of course.

Good luck on your set. I enjoy seeing your additions.
