What will this sell for?

Franco Harris RC PSA 9

SMR is $275

Pop is 21 9's out of 330 graded, with none higher.

It's not particularly sharp for a 9, with a miniscule diamond cut and a hint of a rough cut, and it's not a particularly low pop, BUT it's the first 9 to hit eBay in at least a year. Every other card in the All-Time NFL Rushers set has appeared in 9 or 10 in the past year (with the exception of Jim Brown). There has to be some pent-up demand for this card, and although I doubt I'll bid, I'm very interested to see where it ends.

I would go to the high $400s if it were centered. It is hard to justify paying top dollar with such noticeable off centering. It would become buy the holder and not the card at that point for me.

    i got killed @ $10.00 per.
its a nice card and with the standards
utilized by PSA on my submission it is
    worthy of the grade.

  • pc,

You probably should have spent the time to get the scan right. I have had similar problems in scanning cards where they don't look anything like the actual card. I have scanned single cards 2-10 times to get a true representation of the card.

I am pretty sure that this is a scanning issue. First, for white bordered cards, try using a black background (or leave the scanner lid open in a dark room). Also, get the card centered better in the holder. You still have over 8 days. If it was my auction, I'd be re-scanning right now. image

i recently bought one of these all in one scanner/printer/faxes
from dell and the scans just dont compare to the old epson
scanner.atleast the pics are unenhanced and the card is larger
than life.sometimes more is less but its all there so no one can
be mislead.thanks for the input.i am happy where-ever the card sells.
i'm sure it will find a home in a set registry collection.pc

PC, that's a very tough card nonetheless. In the last few months, the pop has only gone up from 20 to 21 (presumably yours), while john Riggins' RC in 9 has gone from 9 to 14. Good luck on the auction,

WOW! Not bad at all - the '70s runningback PSA 9s are hot right now. I felt guilty for paying $300 for the last EBAY auction '78 Topps Tony Dorsett PSA 9, however it had beautiful centering.

Wow, Alan, no offense ( and lucky you) but I can't believe this is a 9. With a print dot AND diamond cut? I just got back some gorgeous pre-70 material that looks like it went from the sheet to the holder, well centered, no marks, razor sharp corners, etc. and got about 2/3 8's on a 400+ card submission. Sometimes I think they just put all of the nicer cards in a box and randomly pull out the grades.
