PSA Paks sold in Target stores?

I just saw this auction #2745467044. Three 'PSA Paks' for BIN of
34.99 .
Each pack contains one psa card graded 8, 9 or 10 from baseball, basketball or football.
I've never seen these before. Something about it just seems 'weird' to me. PSA going retail with grab bags. Hmmm.

It is apparent that these are not marketed or sold via PSA, the company sportcardinvestors.com is the nationwide seller and the eBay seller as well...jay

qc, I do see that now. I was focused on PSA's label on the pack.
It seems they must've had some involvement.

    This is NOT RIGHT !!!

Joe Orlando needs to run from this deal..

It makes the whole PSA professional policy look bad......REAL bad...

Anybody want to give me some money for my "Scoreboard" cards??? How about those "super" wax pack trays you get at K-Mart???....Hmmmmm.

C'mon PSA, we don't need clowns to sell tickets to see lions.....

    King Kellogg,

I respectfully disagree. I believe this is good for the hobby. I think it educates the general public about graded material. This is not the BCCG garbage that I have seen, but rather they are ligitimate graded PSA cards. I doubt that I will purchase any as I believe I can send in plenty of cards of this quality that would grade 9s. However, I hope that more collectors get enthusiastic about the idea of having a "Mint" card that is encapsulated in their collection. I live on a street with a few budding young collectors, and they love it when I hand out a graded card for a birthday or Christmas. I do not think it wise to purchase these packs for any hope of a return on investment, but I like the overall concept.
    Looking for 77 cloth 9s and 10s.

I concur with Luke. This is a great idea for PSA and for collectors who don't know anything about PSA or graded cards. The VERY General public has barely caught on to this and a little introduction like what is offered is just another opportunity to bring new folks into the graded card and PSA arena.

Keep in mind these packages offered at department stores are not "Targeted" for folks like those on this board who are deeper into this end of the hobby. Therefore,it should be welcomed because it's only going to raise more interest in things everyone here enjoys.

STRANGE THESE ARE ON EBAY, DID ANYONE EVER ACTUALLY BUY THEM FROM TARGET? ??

PACKCOLL- I did see these at Target a few months ago, and didn't purchase any. I'm sure all the graded cards are graded correctly, but I didn't want to take any chances on getting a Torey Lovello or a Luis Sojo card. I noticed the packager sportscardinvestmentco. who is also running the eBay ads, opened packs and got a good assortment of good players, but I'd rather spend my $40 (3 cards + shipping) on cards that I know I'm getting, be it three 1965 common psa-8's or cards of Griffey, Piazza, Iverson etc... that In see in advance, and know I need and want. So hopefully, newbie collectors will come into the fold and start their graded card collection this way, and keep on going upwards and onwards...jay
