Watch out for SPAM emails from an Alan Warren

Alan Warren <warren@microbesinc.com>
evidently got my email from the Registry
and saw that I had a few 82 topps registered
so he sends me this out-of-the-blue SPAM
email wanting to sell me stuff

<< <i>jesse barfield

i have 3 copies of 1982 topps #203

interested? >>

Now I responded that I did not know him or what the card was,
or if it was Graded by PSA...

He said "No, they are not graded by PSA. I barly know who PSA is until today"

WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE!
and Why are they Trolling for sales in the REGISTRY!

Oh sure, the infamous raw card spammer disguised as a hotdog says to "get used to it". This guy will try to sell you raw Donruss "J. France" cards if you are not careful!

Julio -- see the thread on the Sports Board for more details. It's weird, but I've never even heard of the guy.

    I understand and even appreciate
a good deal on GRADED Cards, but the
concept of the Registry is lost on this guy.

He says he does not even know what PSA is,
yet knows about the registry and how to
search for people who need the cards he has
    that are NOT Graded?!!?!!

    No thanks!

But, I would welcome a regular posting member,
    who I have heard of...
to let me know if they have something for sale that
they know I collect... you know?!

there is just a differnce between that and a
    stranger sending unwanted spam.

Seriously, BKAH is correct. I have contacted other board members and others have contacted me under the circumstances described and I have never had a bad transaction on either end of the bargain.
  • Hey BKAH,

Why are you Spamming this article on the Registry Board? What does it have to do with the Registry?

Where is that guy who always polices these boards when you need him?.... oh, never mind.imageimage

    Hey buckwheat,
    are you serious or
did you just not read it?

I posted this thread (that is Not spam, but about a spammer!)
on this board because this Loser
is USING THE SET REGISTRY TO TROLL FOR EMAIL ADDRESSESS
AND SET NEEDS so that he can send out his spam emails

I was Designed as a WARNING for all the People who
have SETS ON THE SET REGISTRY!
So Where the Hell was I supposed to post it?

Don't feel bad,Jeff.Just try to find entertainment in it because that's all it could possibly be.Treat them like prank calls that are harmless.

I have a couple Dealers who email regularly but it's nothing I really need or pertaining to my set.I know who they are and even though I've never done business with them I like seeing their updated inventory.

Now what happened to you is nothing compared to a guy who emailed me an offer for a RAW 1980 Topps set MINUS the stars for somewhere areound 600 to $800. image

Therefore,I think your in for some classic offers that will out do the one you were just offered at some other point.

No I wasn't serious. I was trying to be funny. And yes, I had read the original post some hours before but had forgotten the reference to the email probably being obtained from the Registry. So Sorry.

Each and every forum member should email the guy notifying him that "I have two dozen Kevin Maas RCs for sale" or "I have 100 ct lots of Brien Taylor for sale". Maybe he'll get the message eventually.
