PSA POP REPORT PROBLEMS!!!

C'mon PSA. I really need to know where your head is. You demand that people pay money to join the Collector's Club in order to submit their cards. OK. I don't like it, but I understand it. One gets the free gradings, the monthly copy of the SMR, and unlimited access to the pop report.

Now. . .when I went to the pop report tonight, what do I discover? The last update to the pop report was 7 July, 2003. ARE YOU TELLING ME THE POP REPORT HASN'T BEEN UPDATED IN OVER A MONTH?!?!?!

And you expect us to PAY for this?!?!?! Are you kidding me?

It's totally beyond me how PSA can so totally drop the ball on something so fundamentally important to every serious collector - and then to say that it's a benefit of a now-mandatory Collector's Club membership is downright laughable.

If you want to charge for services like this, great. Then you should actually maintain the service. Right now, I think PSA should at least explain why they've been dragging on the pop report - and I don't think a month's extension of pop access for all those who have paid would be at all out of line.

I love PSA and I'm normally one of the first to give them the benefit of the doubt. But this one just sort of blows me away.

    MIKE - I've noticed changes in issues that I have. So, I think they are updating, they just haven't updated the "date"...jay

    Jay> If that's the case, then there's no problem. But if that's so, then it does inconvenience those people who track population changes over time. In this situation, there's no way to be sure of the date for which the numbers are good.

    Do you really LOVE PSA? Isn't that a touch strong? I mean, LOVE your wife, your kids, your family, and the like--may I suggest that you merely submit cards to PSA for authentication. All kidding aside, I kept checking it and saw "July 7" until Matt filled me in on the bogus date thing. It's working just fine. Those paint fumes must've gotten to you--you were pretty excited there in your post--BOLD print, Itallics, CAPS...the works!!! image

    Well, the pop report says it was updated today, but none of the cards on my latest submission (grades posted 8/11) are included in the new populations. Also, if you do a search by player (for Johnny Bench in my case), sometimes it will pull up all the cards with him on it, and other times it will only list up through 1982. Seems like there are still plenty of problems with the pop report! Anyone know who administers the pop report? I don't want to bother BJ or Gayle if they're not the ones responsible for maintaining it.

    Says last updated on 14th,but Ihad a Tinsey #14 error card graded at start on month the only eight it still shows none.cert #11583313 that is updated shows it is tinsly error card whizzer white back.hmmmmmmm does that mean it is a 1 of none image

    Skinsfan, was that the Tinsley that was graded BVG 8? If so, nice card and congrats on the crossover. I was the underbidder on that card and thought I had it.image In comparison to the Whizzer error do you believe this card to be even tougher?

    Butcher. YES IT WAS THE BVG 8. It is a true 1 of 1 the only psa 8 and may I note only two 6,s and Two 7,s total. The 1 bvg 8 no longer exists and none from sgc. Based on how scarce it it yes I think worth just as much as whizzer error if not more.The corners are very solid, three are nine mint quility corners the 4th a solid nm/mt centering was only issue. I measured it at 39 /61 left right, top to bottom was almost 50/50. very nice card. BY THE WAY I AM BUYING PSA NINES FROM 55 ALL AMERICANS /66 TOPPS/67 PHILLY AND 68 FOOTBALL.     It looks like the pop report has finally been updated (at least for the cards I was interested in). Has anyone else noticed a change?
