Need Some References Please

I've been contacted by cad203 (ebay id) because he is looking to sell me some 1954-55 Topps hockey cards. Have any of you ever dealt with this user before? Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Mac,
I've seen this Cad203 actively buying '54's for a while now.
He probably is selling off his left-overs as he upgrades.
I have about half the set in PSA 6 and 7 duplicates.
let me know if you are interested. (terwilliger@charter.net)
One seller to stay away from on those '54's in USA.USA. (bad apple)
  • Murcerfan,

    Thanks for the heads up.

What's the story with USA!USA!? He's always selling these and I don't see any negatives with him. I do know he has a lot of bid retractions (including one of my auctions).

I would be interested in what you have. I'll try and contact you early next week.

  • JrMacDaddy, CAD203 is Ilia Diterichs from Mt. Kisco, NY. I have delt with this ebayer MANY times and i have never had a problem (always pays fast). IMO this person is very safe to deal with.

Also, I won a couple of cards from USA!USA! awhile back and i had no problems dealing with this person (he sent cards fast and packaged well) but alot of others say he is the seller from hell so maybe i just got lucky.

    Hope this helps!
    Paul.

Ok, now i put it together (didn't know his e-bay user id).
I had Mr. Dietrich contact me on a few occasions off the '54-5 registry
he sold me a handful of 7's and they were nice. He actually is trying to sell me two more i could use, but the e-bay prices have fallen sharply on these and his asking price can probably be beat with patience. I concur on the thumbs up for him as a seller.
  • I won two auctions from usa!usa! a week ago and can't get a friggin' invoice from him. His auctions state you MUST wait for an invoice. I beg...he ignores.

    The books still out...

  • I've dealt with Ilia (nickname Neil) Diterichs many times over the past four years and he's always been super. Probably made 10-20 trades/purchases/sales with him mostly involving 1950s high grade football - he was instrumental in helping me build my 1955 Bowman set. He's first class all the way.

Funny you guys should mention Neil. We just worked out a trade last night (first time Ive dealt with him) regarding a POP 1 PSA 9 Golden Press that he needed and he upgraded me with 8's and 9's on cards I needed to complete my Golden Press Set in PSA 8 & 9 condition!

    Very easy to deal with!

Also..if Stonegate says hes solid....take it to the bank.

I should mention that our trade was the result of me leaving my registered set OPEN on the registry......he saw that I had the card he was looking for and was able to see where I needed upgrades to PSA 8 or better.

  • oh boy, usa!usa! has come up again......for those of you who dont know, he sells mainly lower grade psa vintage hockey on ebay. most of his items are fixed price auctions, which is really annoying having to sift through his numerous pages of junk when doing a simple "psa hockey" search. not that that is is against ebay rules, its just bothersome. he has been kicked off ebay numerous times (previous ebay id's he used included thestinkyboys, positvefeedback, goastroach, threekittensauctions, and others) for various reasons- shill bidding, making obscene threats to ebayers, not paying on auctions (i think), and several other reasons. many times he bids on items that have a stated reserve, always maxing out right below the reserve price. this isnt illegal in the technical sense, but it does create false hype and is, in my opinion, unethical. he has also shill bids on many items, and when he becomes the high bidder, he quickly retracts his bid (mainly on 1954 topps hk stuff, i believe to punish other people on the registry who have better sets than him- he bid up a psa 8 common to $800, far higher than its market value, and far higher than the 3rd bidder). i have also heard stories of ebayers winning auctions for cards registered in his sets, and he refuses to remove them, sometimes going as far as calling names and making threats if asked. his set registry name is "Fre," and he has several sets including 54 topps, 66 topps usa test, and a few others. for more info on him, do a search for the thread entitled "thread on the bad seed of vintage hockey." it should provide more info. moral of the story is, he is bad news and frankly an a$$hole.
  • goodriddance189....I second all of that. what a dick.
