Taking the plunge - 1955 Topps - Need YOUR help

OK guys, I know there has to be some of you that can start me on my way. I've decided to tackle one of the classic BB sets of all time - the 1955 Topps set. While I won't be swinging for the fences in an all out duel to collect 8's and above - I will be adding a few here and there - instead, I'm going to concentrate my efforts on the PSA 6-7 range.

I've had dealings with a bunch of you guys, mostly on the vintage hockey cards side of things. This will be my first meaningful foray into a vintage BB set.

If there are any members out there with some nice raw cards in that condition w/ decent centering, or some already graded in 6's and 7's, now is the time to stop having them sit in your closet and offer them up at a fair price and help out another member in his quest.

I'm thinking of starting out slow, picking up reasonably priced commons & minor stars and save some of the big daddy's for a little while later, unless a deal comes along too good to pass up.

I'm sure this set will take some time to assemble, but the journey is most of the fun anyway.

If you can help out, shoot me an email at Jwickens@twmi.rr.com.

Many thanks!

    Thanks,
    Bruce
    Looking for:
    1953 Topps in PSA 8
    1941 Playball in PSA 8.
1952-1955 Red Man cards in 7 and 8
    1950 Bowman in PSA 8
  • The 1955 set is an easy set to put together in those grades, especially if you don't have a problem with OC's. It is great looking. The 6's are easy to come by and for the most part . . . dirt cheap. image
