Just arrived! New Merc...

This latest addition to my set just came in the mail. The pictures don't really do it justice (overcast day). It's almost blast white, except for just a hint of toning. It has great luster, and appears to have its original skin (undipped). I'll be adding it to the set tonight, and should have a better picture to put into the Registry tomorrow. I like this coin a LOT!

Almost forgot - its a PCGS MS65.

However, I think Cocoinut's coin is really nice. Bright and shiney, like a Merc should be, not all dirty like Ken's coins.

Jim, Very nice original looking dime, and the photos are not bad either. That is a tough date to find that nice. Congratulations. Al's staying a step ahead of you, and you are staying 2 steps ahead of me!
I hope to get a couple of upgrades in tomorrow. 1939-P PCGS MS67FB and 1940-S PCGS MS67FB. No movement help there though. I need to quit buying upgrades and start buying hole fillers!

did she have a nose job? Looks like a scar on the top of the nose.

fcloud: There actually is a small raised area at the top of the nose. The coin has a fair amount of die polish, and the area where the nose meets the forehead is practically level with the field in front of Liberty's face, except for this . It's not visible to the naked eye, and barely discernable with a 10X loupe, but the camera sure picks it up. It's weird how a photo sometimes shows things that you wouldn't notice otherwise. I wonder if anyone else's '19-S shows this. Whatever caused it, it seems to be in the die, so there should be others.
Here is a more detailed picture.

Nice coin. It sure looks like it was hammered out nicely. I'm with you....I like the coin alot also. Attached is a picture of my 19S obverse that does not show the so called broken nose effect. Mark will be in shock that this one is not all dirty. Just a touch of blue and that is it.
My Stokely dime went right into the set with no problem.
Ken
That's a real nice coin (though it's no shock that you bought a very nice coin!). I especially like the fact that it doesn't seem to need a bath.
My Stokely dime went in only after I emailed a scan of the coin in the slab to PCGS. But PCGS was very fast in correcting the issue.
