$1K for a 1976 Common???

1976 PSA 10

Maybe it's just me but isn't a grand for a $0.25 common a bit much? Or you could buy it now for a bit more than twice that. What a deal!!!

If it was a 1976 PSA 10 Pepe Frias it certainly would be worth the opening bid image . Seriously if the seller didnt make an error he just blew 3 bucks

    Its just ridiculous.
  • It's beyond ridiculous and it's not an error since the BIN price is commensurately absurd ($2,500).

is there someone who needs only that card to complete their set? I wonder if this was directed at a particular buyer as the seller is usually pretty good. still ridiculous no matter what
  • What is truly funny is that a pal of mine offered them a 1965 1/1 PSA 10 for less than a third of their asking price at the National. Their comment?

"Commons just aren't worth that much"

What a total crock o' sheiss.

    Guys:

Calm down -- it is a joke auction. Though the card is truly a PSA 10 GEM MINT card -- they started with a high opening bid because of the player's name "Dick Pole". If you looked -- they had about six other commons from the same set starting off at $1- for a PSA 10 GEM MINT. So it was because of the name.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

that explains it, I guess that looks like pretty good deal for a dick pole. I understand that they usually go for much more than that.image
  • It's not just any Dick Pole. It's a 10 Dick Pole. At $1000 it may be hard for some of you to swallow but in the end it may surprise you.

How much would they want for Peter LaCoq (we've been over this before but the forum editor still won't let me use his actual name).

Those two have always been paired in my mind, not in a good way.

    Z-

Your friend may have overpayed for the card if he plans to sell it to a dealer. He needs to find a collector (like one from Virginia Beach) to buy it.

Get yer heads out of the gutter. It's $1000 because he played for the RED SOX

    A 1/1 1975 PSA 9 Dick Pole sold for $154.57 a few months ago
collecting '67 & '75 red sox + baseball HOF autographs

You can write "Pete LaCock" if you want. You have to be over 5,000 posts before they let you.
  • i really hope nobody is that stupid!!!!

I think I'd rather spend $1000 on a lot of 76 commons and sort through them to find a "10".
