Once again, I have to disagree with the masses (and Lucy, sorry). That is one ugly coin. Nice fingerprint right across the obverse - it's not even a subtle one either. That coin should be in an AU holder AT MOST. I agree with Condor, go find a sucker. I wouldn't pay more than ten bucks for it either, even if the holder said PCGS MS70! I like my Franklins but most if not all super hi-grade Franklins just sicken me, and this is a prime example why. Seeing a coin like that in a holder with that number on it makes me sick to my stomach and gets me totally pissed at PCGS. How many people would be singing praises if this thing got into an ACG-66FL slab? If that were the case, this would be a prime opportunity to bash ACG and laugh at them and point out that this is why they can't grade, etc. But if it's in a PCGS-66FL slab, then PCGS rocks, Marty is da man, and the coin is "solid for the grade". Puh-leeeze
Wondercoin - innocent until proven guilty? That is a print - oh well still ms66 grade and is rare as such. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I agree on even uglier dipped out coins. Sometimes it's possible to improve a coin by dipping but in my opinion it's not often.
Mitch, I think maybe you need a new monitor! Those are unquestionably fingerprints, obverse and reverse.
There are THOUSANDS of MS66 Franklins out there with fingerprints, it is perfectly acceptable for the grade.
If Marty got that coin where I think he did, it is not the first toned 1961 to go MS66 from that source. There is a dealer in the Chicago area that used to buy rolls of franks and wholesale them out as singles. But he held back the best ones and put them away in manilla envelopes. He slowly tricckles them back into the market, not realizing what he has. Over the years I have made 2 or 3 60-d's in PCXGS 65 from his hoard, and many other nice grades including TWO MS66 1961's! one pcgs and one ngc. all had similar tone as marty's

That seems to be the way this board works. Your coins are junk until they're in slabs, the plastic is some kind of upgrade to aesthetic appeal I suppose. LOL
Try a simple test one day. Cross an average proof Kennedy from a PCGS holder into an ACG holder. Post the coin in the PCGS holder first and see all the oohs and ahs you get. Wait about a month and post the same coin in the ACG holder and see all the negative comments you receive.
What's that commercial say, "Plastics make it possible?"
Bushmaster: Well, I am on the road with an old laptop - everything looks good with this screen (depending how far I open the lid (screen)
Neat story about the 61's. I believe the original pop 1/0 coin from this year/MM is a white coin - so, did those pretty toned coins 61(p) grade MS66 without FBL? It would be neat if you had a scan of one

I had a Franklin market maker tell me that "Collectors find fingerprint toning very desireable" I wonder how much he would pay? Yes I see Fingerprints. I can also say that I've seen a lot of monsters with fingerprints, and I guess that there is a point where the color is so great, that the fingerprints become secondary to visual impact. It's happened with me, but rarely.

Yes - this coin deserves a fair trial.

Everybody moaned and groaned about how butt ugly and worthless it is.
Then shortly after that, I posted this one:
Got all kinds of oohs and ahs and gee that's pretty.
Guess what? They're the same coin.
