SAE spot.

KAJ1KAJ1 Posts: 768 ✭✭✭
I took my Eagles out the other day and noticed this spot. image

I sent it to PCGS in the mint plastic, so this had to happen at PCGS right ?
It ruins the coin for me.
It is not on the slab.
What can I do ? Will PCGS help me on this ?

    looks like a nose print.

its probably fresh enough to be cleaned off without leaving a spot there where it is.

they,d crack it out , wipe it with a Q-tip and reslab it.

i think its an easy fix IMO

It kind of looks like haze but maybe not. Maybe a fingerprint?
What did it grade? That might help figure out if the spot was there before it was graded or not.

It graded DCAM69 . I sent it in the mint plastic. I never touched the coin.
Spot was not visible when I got it back from PCGS.

My guess is that it probably turned in the holder after PCGS graded it. Perhaps it was improperly handled once it was received and now the spot is coming up because it has no air to breathe. It happens! If it bothers you enough, send it back to them and see what they can do.

    So PCGS will fix it?

Probably. Call the 1-800-447-8848 number and explain it to them see what they say.

    Its not a 69dcam anymore.
