why collect the players you collect?

like for example, why do i collect derek jeter?

i'm a yankees fan in baseball, wizards in basketball, and nothing in football (not much into football)

well, the wizards really don't have anyone special, except for jordan, who retired. so that's gone.

in the yankees...the only guys i would have collected would be jeter, soriano, and posada.

well, as you know, most yankees are tough to get autos from in person

i've been to a few games and most of them won't give autos at all, even if there is only one fan saying before the game "mr.____, could i have your autograph?"

jeter was the only guy in the team who signed my baseball (wow) and was happy to do so.

the others (the ones that actually did) just signed my baseball as though it was an obligation, even without a smile.

jeter is true to his fans, even in bad games he will sign. he also does it before and after games.

it's just me, my cousin use to collect vince carter, then he went to an alumni game (unc vs duke). after the game, every player signed for the fans (they waited 2 hours to sign for everyone)...except for one player. you guessed it...VINCE CARTER. he just left, he probably had the best game and thought he was GOD or something and just left. my aunt and him (my cousin) requested his auto, he declined. never the less, my cousin sold his entire vince carter collection the next day. he did get everyone else's auto.

why i collect jeter? he plays for my favorite team, he is a star player, and he is true to his fans.

by the way, i also met jeter outside a new york restaraunt...which made him my favorite player. he also signed there for me too.

What's the point? Anything I say would beat out your claim that kr580 and 49ersfan are homosexual 49er fans. That's a 4th grade comeback, man. And I am a huge 49ers fan too. So now thats three people. WHat are you going to accuse of having a threesome now?

I collect Hakeem Olajuwon because I first saw him play on TV 1990 when I was 4 and I followed him around with my eyes the whole game. And I saw him again later that year and followed him around that game too. I would watch whatever he did. So when my dad starting buying me packs I would trade and take all the olajuwon cards that I didn't get in my packs from my sister. I think I ended up trading her all my mj's and larry bird's to her for some hakeem commons.

I collect Mateen Cleaves because he has a great heart and when I was watching him at MSU and I always loved how much heart he showed and how he just put all his emotions on the floor.

Derrick Thomas - It started outta respect. I heard he died, so I figured I could try to collect a buncha his cards (this was when I was just starting). Turns out i'm still collecting him today. and then i've read up on him, and he was the wrong person to go... from all the stories i've heard, he's one of, if not the most, hard working player in NFL history IMO... also, he's THE nicest guy i've ever heard of... and he's touched more people in the NFL community (or even the world... eh.. maybe not), then ANY other player... i dare you to prove me wrong

Kevan Barlow - Just needed someone else to collect, so i sat watching the 2001 Draft and saw the 49ers had pick #80 (Rice's #... thats how i remember so well) in the 3rd round, so i just said to myself "I'll collect whoever they pick!"

To me, he symbolizes the Red Sox. He loves the game, he always plays hards, and he's dedicated to the fans of Boston.

i hate garciaparra cause he narrowly beat jeter in the fan poll in the 1999 all-star game

Well, "un" is a prefix meaning "not". The word "funny" is the adjective we're attaching the prefix to, making the word "unfunny". Meaning "not funny".

Explain how "not funny" would've been better? They both mean the same thing, and using "un" as a prefix isn't uncommon (not common) at all.
