Quite a number of nice coins offered. Unfortunately, many of them had high reserves and didn't sell. There is a real paucity of top grade MS coins. Many of those offered were so-so at best and in the 64-65 range, RB coins called red, etc. Viewing in person was a must.

Interesting prices were:
5216 - Called 1856 Snow 3, really the common S9, 12K
5239 - Called 1856 S9, really a rare S4, 11K
5245 - 1858 P67 - didn't meet reserve (DMR)
5246 - Wow coin, 1858 SL 66 cameo, I think it met reserve at about 78K
5255 - 1860 ponited bust, best of the 3 offered, $5500 (just happened to be my consignmentimage)
5249 - monster 1859 in a 64 holder - bought it.
5280 - 1866 MS66R sold for 1/2 what it should have - color??
5320 - 1876 66R - Epstein coin - DMR
5364 - 8K - strong price for a not-very-attractive coin
5365 - same, DMR at opening bid 7750

The only proofs I found exciting were some purple coins, lots 5471, 5472 and 5478. Lot 5472 was the best and sold for an eye popping hammer of $2100! These have been fetching prices 7-800 recently. If you have some of these, take note!

Some great patterns being offered today by Superior. Looking forward to strong prices there too.
