The live page will give you a message when you win a lot and you would receive an e-mail. The live page also informs you if your bid was sent and in the bid history section of that page your bid should have your handle beside it.

Allmost forgot. Be very careful, the amount on the bid now button changes very rapidly sometimes. It can be $500 and a split second later at $5000, so if you click at the moment of that change you could be meaning to bid $500 and bid $5000.
