Caution on PCGS 1972-P Ike Variety Verification

My first batch of 1972-P Ike verification came back today.

They attributed the Type I and Type II.

The word of caution is that they do not label the Type III. The coin was submitted in it original holder, and came back in it original holder and my wallet was $10 lighter. Why I don't know. All they did was assure me it wasn't a Type I or Type II, which I already knew.

Save your self a grading fee and don't submit the Type III's that are already holdered, you'll be wasting your $$$

Is this policy or an error on their part with your submission?

Sounds like they just messed up -- I submitted a few Type 3 and they came back attributed on the label.

James, Those wouldn't happen to be your 66's, would they? If they are, congrats!

Segoja, I had a 72-P Ike come back as Type 3. Just an unfortunate error by PCGS in your case? Kind of "hit or miss". image

    Sounds like an error!

Seems strange given that I sent all of 3 coins in. One of each Type!

I'll call them and let them know.

    Thanks for the info.
