Can someone explain the reverse on this 1909..

indian head cent? The obverse is red but the reverse is nickel...I do not see any attempts to plate it...I included a photo of another 1909 reverse I have for comparison.

    just a different environment that toned it. i think large cents w/ the steel-copper tone are lovely.

    dorkkarl is right. These colors do look cool. I have an 1892 in for grading right now that looks like the reverse color of your's on bothe sides. mike
