Who got this 1979 Topps Rose PSA 9?

I saw this auction was up to $125 and then the seller ended it. I'm sure an offer was made, who got the card? It was probably somebody on this board. I am curious to know how much it sold for if the buyer doesn't mind telling me. I have one coming to me and with only 21 PSA 9's of this card, I'd like to know an approximate value of the card. If anybody else has seen one for sale, shoot me a price range if you know. Thanks for any help. My email is wabit2@yahoo.com or you can PM me.

I didn't win it, but was watching it also - I'm pretty sure it was over $150 when the listing was ended. In all honesty, I've seen better 9s of this card (this one that got BIN'd for $120 is a little nicer IMO). That said, the last 5 examples prior to these two sold on eBay had a range of $104 to $292. The $104 was a dslsports item, and the $292 result *may* have been shilled up.

My personal feeling (based partly on data, partly on gut instinct) is that a solid 9 (no o/c or diamond-cut issues) is a $250 card. I seriously doubt there will ever be a legit PSA 10 of the issue ...

  • wait how much does this card usually go for? i got mine (with 50/50 centering all the way around) for like $90 bucks a year or 2 ago.

I would say you got a great deal :-)

Seriously, the average eBay price over the last two years was around $200. Since the '79 is notorious for centering issues, several "high-end" 9s (wink-wink) have sold for more than that. Also, just to be clear, we're talking about card #650 (not the RB #204 that there are a ton of 9s of). In any case, your purchase was a good one!
