This is another pretty coin. My dealer recently got a few rolls fresh from an original bag of 1881-S Morgan Dollars, and here is one of them.
The coin is simply beaming with luster- the cartwheel, on both sides, is exceptional. The obverse, while admittedly baggy, has exceptional frost covering the devices. Of course, like all frosty coins, the marks show more easily as they contrast more to the frost. The mirrors, defining the PL, are also extraordinary... an entire USPS insurance form can be read, barcode to the other end in the mirrors. On the flipside (haha ) the coin is still simply gorgeous. Still beaming with luster, the side has hardly any marks at all. From 12-4 o'clock is a gorgeous golden/orange crescent, which, below, still shows exceptional cartwheel luster. The devices are also lightly frosted, although not nearly as much so as on the obverse. The mirrors, too, are weak. Noted for accuracy, there is a small hazy patch around 11 o'clock.
With the two sides added together, this coin, in my opinion, would be around an MS63, and has exceptional PL surfaces on the obverse, along with a gorgeous crescent on the reverse. The frost is a delightful and tasty finish to the obverse. The luster is marvelous, and this is clearly a great specimen to own.
It is yours, shipped and insured, for $43- payment can be by check, money order, or paypal (no credit cards).
