Bowman Chrome looks nice. What makes you guys want to break them open? Just for collecting purposes? I checked the prices on eBay and there doesn't appear to be many high-sellers.
I've been buying Fleer products and the prices for their boxes are half the cost of the Bowman Chrome. But I must admit that the Bowman Chrome look really nice. Do you know the size of the base set off the top of your head?
I believe it's a 330 card set, with 165 veterans, 10 prospects, and 155 rookies (20 of which are autographed).
I liked the Greats of the Game set that Fleer put out the last 2 years, mainly because of the autographs. But I haven't noticed many autographs in the recent products, so I've been going with Donruss/Leaf lately.
I haven't pulled an auto yet. I've only been breaking Fleer Authentix and Fleer Focus (with the occassional Upper Deck mixed in). So far, the best card I've pulled is either the "Game of the Week" Greg Maddux/Randy Johnson dual jersey swatch card or the Hideki Matsui "Ticket to the Majors" balcony version (/25). But I've enjoyed some of the lesser cards like Focus' Franchise Focus cards -- those are pretty good looking cards. I haven't been too excited with Upper Deck. I really want to check out the Chrome set now that people are talking about it.
