Of course they're using daddy's money. Same with this set: 11 year old boy has the number two set in this registry

I'm not 100% certain but I think that only one of you has a valid complaint. The other one is making an incorrect assumption on more than one front based on my understanding of the situation. I'm sure some of the top Lincoln guys can chime in to clear things up...I would but don't want to misstate any of the facts.

  • Thats what it looked like to me its really no fair that all the YN's that collect by making there own money get slaughtered by the rich kids that go out and buy the nicest set of coins with daddys money. Atleast they stay outta gold. image *jealus* But who knows maybe she really did earn 10's of thusands of dollars buy herself in one year.

The guy is an agressive buyer of top graded stuff. His Ebay handle is Billbee or something like that, I seriously doubt that his daughter is spending the thousands that are being spent on that collection, but then again you never know. Some day lauren will have one of the finest completed sets on the planet.

Look at it this way, kid. When you save up your money and add a nice coin to your collection, don't you feel a sense of accomplishment and pride? You know where that comes from? It comes from the knowledge that you earned what you have. I can guarantee that that now, and forever, that is a far better feeling than what would be derived if somebody just handed it to you without effort on your part.

It also teaches you a life lesson that will serve you well in adulthood.

You've successfully started to feel bad about someone having a better set than you. If the sets didn't exist, you wouldn't feel this way, and you'd be happy with what you have... this is why the registry sets are no good. PCGS will make money with more submissons of stupid coins, and you will feel like crap.

Learn to be happy with what you have, not what you don't have. I don't believe the Registry instills the bad feelings. It is the lack of pride in ones own accomplishments that causes the bad feelings. If doing your best doesn't make you happy.........
