Autographs are the only way to go.

Does anyone think that UD or possibly Playoff or Pacific have faked some of their GU cards? It makes you think after they say that these jersey pieces are just too clean to be GU.

wait until they come out with the article next year saying how autographs are signed by the player's chef or maid...on the back it says that "this card was autographed and then sent to Upper Deck directly from the player" it never says it was signed by the player, only sent by him

I'm leaning into getting more autographs than game used. I've also considered them "faking" game/event used cards.

"This card has been signed by Michael Jordan's cousin. It has been send directly to Upper Deck by Michael Jordan."

That would be funny.

I feel confident that autos are real, because you can easily compare signed cards with things that have been signed in person, or whatever. There autographs look similar. It would be one thing if ones autographs have been seen with two very different signatures, but I think autographs are real.

yes. i know for a fact they screw them up sometimes, because i have a ricky williams g/u saints card with a green (jets maybe?) jersey on it.

the last time i checked, football was played on grass, and players got dirty. WAY too many store bought swatches on cards today.

lol yea those cards are weird. P- W- is Peter Warricks signature, its possible that at first Peter was signing his name then he realized how much stuff he has to sign so he shortened it. But who knows!? Impossible to know for sure.

plus Tskitishvili is foriegn. He could sign one in English and one in his language.

the Warrick cards are both signed by him. he changed his sig sometime in 01.

yes i know for a fact a lot of rookies change there signature. Salmons did it from signing his full sig to his J.S

Makes me wonder about my 2 Peter Warrick Jersey Cards. Ones Bowman and it says "First Worn" jersey. And they have a white and a black version. (swatch) Mines the white. Then i have a rookie Gems UD Jersey Of him thats Black. And i seen Orange swatches as well. I Thought they only used one jersey and that was the one you see from the photo shoot. I also have a keyshawn johnson jersey Pro Bowl Player Worn Jersey. And it has him standing there in the shirt. I guess we get what we pay for. They do wear them tho. And autographs can only be totally known real if they are witnessed by you. That's the way i see it. But that just sucks . Maybe i'll stick to trying to obtain game used from baseball players at games and stuff. Like when they crack a bat or so.

btw warricks rookie season he signed his full name. Now he just signs P_ W_ # 80 or 9 if it's a College item.
It Ruined his Press pass Jersey that was delayed cause they couldnt get the jersey from the school. So they sent it to him to sign he took a black marker and wrote P_ W_ i would take one without that on it.

Yea I do remember Warrick changing his signature. He sucks anyways so no big deal to me if he signs P-W-80. His signature compares to his performance.

I think I've seen Roy Williams ( longhorn ) allready change his sig, I saw some mini's on Ebay and they just have RW ( and #4 I think ) My helmet has a full sig. So next year it can have a premium on it. I think premiums have to be the best thing about young players signing different.

Same for Vick, he just signs his MV7, guess they get tired of signing there full name after so many times, lol. I think it's cheesy but at least I'd have some assurance that it is his sig. As for the game used, the one thing that totally bugged me was the game used footballs, I think that is the lamest excuse to sell a card. Ooops, I take that back, forgot about game used pylons, and goal posts, and turf, uggh, when will it end. I don't even deal with it anymore, autos all the way for me,

yeah really. dirt cards? and they have tiny pieces of helmet too. they probably slip those on for a minute or so too.

those little round pieces of helmet are from the facemask...they probably just put a new facemask on their helmet, pose for a picture, and take it off and put a new facemask on

As far as the GU thing; a few companies got caught a few years ago
passing off jerseys as GU when they weren't. Ever since then, they now use the words "photo" "event" used or "game" used if it actually is.
When Vick was still at Va Tech, right after he announced he was coming out early, he did a signing for the local county sports club.
He signed like 200 of the Sports Illustrated Mags using his full name
& #7. We live only 30 miles from VA Tech & one hobby shop guy we bought cards from got 5 of the mags & he saved us the nicest of the Autos.
We had the mag framed & Vicks Auto is one of our all time favorites; needless to say. We have had some serious offers for it but it is staying in our collection. All he signs anymore is MV7.
