Are there Taxes on Coins in Baltimore?

Just wondering if we will be taxed at the ANA in Baltimore? If so it could put a damper on my purchases. There are no taxes in CT for coins.

  • I bought a few coins in the raw at the Spring show and never paid any tax, if that helps....Ken

It might depend on where the dealer is located.

Numismatic sales in excess of $1000 are tax exempt, by law, in Md. All other sales have a 5% sales tax.
PNG member, numismatic dealer since 1965. Operates a retail store, also has exhibited at over 1000 shows.
I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

I emailed Heritage about GET if I have an agent present for bidding. The answer was a little odd. I suggest you contact Heritage directly.
