What i mean is this.... Spending 3 grand on a nice Morgan dollar doesnt mean that coin is any better then someone who spends 200.00 on really nice Ike proof. It only means that the Morgan dollar costs more.
Looking at the awards that were given (not the certificates), just about all the awards were to people who spent tons of cash on pre 1964, and a bunch more pre 1900 coin sets.
Why isnt attention given to modern coins? Is it that PCGS only wants to acknowledge people who spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on high graded PCGS early coins to boost its own company profile?
I am not sure really. Its just a thought.

PS. Before you start flaming me, I enjoy modern coins over early coins. Something about the pretty shine. No i am not bitter about awards or anything. I have a few completed top 5 sets and i am happy with them.

since there are so very many more moderns which can still be graded and since they
are cheaper people can buy a lot more slabs.
Please don't flame me, I meant this literally, and I really like moderns from most stand-
points.
