Custom, OFFICIAL, PCGS SET REGISTRY, "MERCATEER" T-shirts!

Hello Mercateers!

I have worked a deal with a custom T-shirt maker to make custom "Mercateer" T-shirts. Some of you have seen the generic "Mercateer" T-shirts, but these will be much much better. The front will have photo of a 1916 Mercury dime in color (slightly toned) about a 7 inches in diameter just like the generic "Mercateer" shirts. The left breast will have your custom PCGS boards handle (your name if you want) in about 3/4 inch letters. The back between the shoulder blades will read in about one inch high letters (maybe bigger if it will look good):

OFFICIAL

PCGS REGISTRY SET

MERCATEER

I will sell these custom T-shirts at $15.00 (my cost) plus $3.85 priority mail shipping. This includes your custom board name on the front of the shirt. These are high quality Hanes or Fruit of the Loom 100% cotton T-shirts, but figure they will shrink some. I suggest you order at least one size bigger than you normally wear. If you order two, I will ship for the same price. I have already cleared this with BJ and the powers that be, and have the green light to go ahead. I need to order at least 10 at a time. I'm in for three, so now only need 7. Anyone interested?

Please PM me with your orders. I will need to know the size you want and the name you want on the front and the name of your registry set. Please make sure you type the name "exactly" as you want it on the front. If I get enough orders that I can get an additional break on price, we will use the proceeds to award "Honorary" shirts. I can think of at least one worthy individual.

Please be aware, to order one of these shirts, you MUST have a PCGS Mercury dime registry set currently listed with at least one dime! The only non-registry set owner shirts given out will be "Honorary" shirts given to outstanding board individuals who exibit the sprit of the "Mercateers". A panel of "Mercateers" chosen by me will make the decisions on those awards. These special shirts will state on the back:

HONORARY

PCGS REGISTRY SET

MERCATEER

If you wear your Mercateer T-shirt to coin shows, it will make it way easier for those of us that don't know each other by sight to meet up!

Ok, anyone interested? PM me and let me know.

Regards,

Wayne

I can see it now. One of the Guys/Gals walks into a show and just gets totally mobbed because of the personna that has been established here on the Registry Set Forum. Probably more people would be seeking autographs from a Mercateer than Elvis would get if he reappeared.

Damn Straight......sign me up for two of them !!

  • I want one! Ooops, I have nothing currently registered image Well I will PM my addy and see if I can register a coin later or maybe get a honorary one image

edited: I don't think I should get an honorary one. I guess I'll have to register a coin or two...

What about the rest of us registry set owners? There should be a shirt for all not just the ones that collect fishing lures. image

Hmmm.... It's kind of like wearing a bullseye, so people that you've PO'd here can easily spot you. image

Wayne, you may have started a new fashion trend here. I can see it now...... at the next Long Beach, ANA, or FUN show.....there'll be scores of Registry folks walking the bourse, advertising their favorite coin. I'm surprised PCGS hasn't already thought of this. Maybe you should have the reverse of the coin on the back of the shirt. image Wish I attended enough shows to make it worthwhile. The large cities on either coast seem to attract most of the major shows, while those of us in the hinterlands are lucky to get to one or two regional shows a year.

I think you must re-think and put a option in for Non Merc Registry folks. Carl and Bill sure qualify as they have both been Big Suppotters of the Fish Guys and Gals. image

Does having a MS68FB in a Type Set count toward getting a T-shirt?

Plus, I've been using mercs for years to catch pike and muskie. image

    Hi Mercateers!

OK, as far as I'm concerned, if you have a Merc registered in a set, even a type set, that is good enough to qualify as an official "Mercateer" and order your Mercshirt. Those of you that don't, how about the shirt with your name on the front, but without the stuff on the back?

I have orders for 16 shirts so far. I'm going to give it about another week, then place the order.
