    Coin one has hard surfaces, coin two appears slightly granular (porous?). A tad more detail on coin two though. I'd go with coin one. Just a bit glossier and more appealing.

    It's much smoother and considerably better centered... I say it's better.

    I would say coin 1 is worse...

    I agree with airplanenut and braddick, coin 1 is better, primarily due to the centering of the coin and the hard surface. Coin 2 does seem to have better detail, and it does have an interesting mark at 3:00 on the obverse and 9:00 on the reverse.

    I don't like the color or surfaces of coin 2, but due to significantly better detail/strike, it's better than coin 1.

    Both coins are in PCGS MS62BN holders.

    I think coin #2 would have graded higher if not for the plug at 9:00 It has a much better strike than the first coin.

    The 'plug' at 9 oclock is a die cud that existed at the time of production and should be irrelevant to the grade.

    no 2 connecticuts can ever be "equivalent", imo!!!

    granted that, as a type ONLY, these 2 coins are close overall net grade.
