Thought you would see some things of interest. Man I would love to bid for you but after the bids I put in the wallet is very bare. Atleast you did not mention the coin I really want. There is a chance I just may pay some Stupid Money in this Auction. Man thats a bummer as I really try not to do that.
Some really cool coins though. Break down and get that 30S. It looked nice to me. Wasn't there a 66 coin in that date also ? Hmmm......wheels spinning again. Problem is for one point its probably 3 to 5 hundred dollars. Nope....not worth it in my opinion.
Ken
I wonder why Stokley is selling this collection..is he perhaps moving to another type of coin? Does anyone know? If he is moving to another collection, I hope it's one I collect because he has a tremendous eye and I like buying the coins he sells after he upgrades!

Was that you that outbid my marker bid with your marker bid ? I did the same thing with marker bids plus put about six others on watch in case big bucks blow me out of the water quickly on the ones that are really wanted.
Ken
PM me.

I think a Marker bid would pertain to Ebay more where it would show up on your screen first, mine does anyway, instead of having to go to the watch list which might be forgotten. The Heritage deal has it where you have to go to both of them so actually a Marker and a Watch are basically the same thing at Heritage....I think.
Hey anyone if I'm wrong let me know. Maybe I'm missing something on the "H" Site.
Also it looks like Official "Drool Time" has started. Man can we stand this for over twenty days ?

Let's not forget the forum tradition of new members sending all old members a thanks-for-letting-me-join Merc!
And we definitely can't forget the tradition of the old members saying "Welcome abroad" to the new members!
Well, I've gotta run now--I'm headed over to the Heritage site to tie up some serious bandwidth.
Mark
There sure are some beauties in this group from Heritage.

I finished looking through all these and placing bids the bottom of my screen said I was high bidder on
30K worth. And I'm only looking at the short set 34 - 45.... First thing Monday I'm calling my bank and up
my credit line.

Dennis, do not let these guys bluff you! Hang in there and bid Buddy.
These new guys are not going to keep me from bidding. I want to have a dime with the pedigree. All the dimes I really need are way big bucks, so I will probably try to snag a late date upgrade to 67FB. It would be great if we work together and not run each other up. Mercateer1, I have already welcomed you, but welcome again. Gatekeeper, welcome also. Please be advised, the Merc collectors here really try to work together and help each other, I think we would all hope you will contribute in the same fashion.

not many in the Stokley collection I want but the others......................
I need some ms68's no bands. I have 3 so far and want about 6-7 more for my set. anyone got any?
I am sure that Heritage has the ole' floor bidders going hard on these anyway....
It will be interesting to say the least to watch this one play out...good luck to Steve on the sale of his mercs.

Well, I have finally been able to view the Heratige auction. Even with my DSL, it was almost impossible for the first 3-4 days. The Heritage sight must have been way overloaded with lookers and bidders. Wow, Every dime I need to fill a hole is 1-4 grades higher than I can afford. I placed a couple of semi-serous bids on common late date coins just in hopes of getting at least one with the Stokely pedigree. I am working on having someone live bid for me from the floor, just in case. Good luck everyone. I predict there will be very little red in the Mercs for the next three weeks as everyone trys to save up for this group of great Mercs. Can't wait to hear about everyone's new acquisitions. I'm going to be working on my photo skills!

In God We Trust.... all others pay in Gold and Silver!
still going for the 30S and 27S Mercuries. good luck to the rest of you.
yes by the way my name was choosen after seeing the guy that posted here call you Mercateers.
turn on your pm, how serious are you about the 27-s, I may bow out if it gets to expensive
and look at some of the other dates
Tim
You should know that you may have some competition for the No Bands 68s out there. I know you have recently developed this specialty, but it has also been my niche for a couple of years. Good Luck!!
I dont know if I will win any of these auctions, as I will not be able to get to Baltimore until the lunch on Friday, but I am holding out hope that I will win a couple. This is going to be an expensive (and very satisfying) week for the Merc folks.
BTW, when do we think this set will be removed from the active list and just remain on the all time list?
