  • I'm not familiar with coin shops in the area, but it's a beautiful part of the country and the folks are friendly.

Dunno about coin shops but you will find the best prices in the world at the local Fisheries/sea food restaurants.

beartracks I envy your probable vacationing there presently as I spent a few summers there.
OT can you get a fishing report or post link here for the closest fishing pier? On the pier end there are the live baiters that nab the big King Mackeral, Amberjack, Tarpon, Cobia, Bluefish, False Albacore, Spanish Mack. Not in order of excitment to catchimage

No coin shops anywhere near here, beartracks42. I live in Kill Devil Hills about 30 miles N. of Buxton on the peninsula and the closest shop is probably in Elizabeth City about 45 minutes from me. Just enjoy your stay here and forget about coins for a while. That's what these parts are all about this time of year.

I love that area. Last summer my family rented one of those beach houses down in Rodanthe and stayed for two weeks. It was the best vacation I ever had. The water was nice and clear and we had gorgeous days. I loved it. There was a really good restaurant down there that we went to and was reasonably priced. It had the best seafood and was really nice inside, I think it was called the Blue Parrot Cafe. Just an awesome area.

Oh, and for the fish, the two weeks we were there the fishers were catching a lot of Spanish Mackerel.

Beautiful beaches, but the closest you'll likely get to a coin is a sand dollar.image
