Help on changing BMP TO JPG

My scanner used to scan in JPG Now after I up graded my puter it scans in BMP
How can I change it back

some editing software will also allow you to bring a file in (.bmp) and crop or resize then save in another format (.jpg)

Now it is saving in BMP
I can not attach any pics to the boards now
If I should wait tell the puter pro looks at it I will
I was just wandering if it was a simple switch

Reloading your software will probably just keep the same settings. Uninstalling and reinstalling may produce the desired result.

I have no idea what program you are using to do the scanning, but it's likely there's simply a setting under options or preferences to save in the JPG format.

I find the easiest way to change a BMP to JPG is MS Photo Editor. It's bundled with almost all versions of Office, but only installed through a custom or complete install.

Your scanner is the device that brings the image to the PC. The software is what determines the format. Most programs will allow you to save to many different formats but .bmp is commonly the default. The software you are using most likely can be set to default to .jpg by going into the setup options.

If you can’t save to .jpg, you can save it as a .bmp and then convert it with another program such as MS Photo Editor like Jxn suggested, but you might as well just scan it in with that program in the first place rather than go through the extra steps.
