I don't know anything about hockey, so it was the price tag that caught my eye.

1911-12 C55 Georges Vezina RC SGC 96 MINT 1/1

$100,000 with a $125,000 BIN, featured auction. If this sells, the closing fees will be over $1500. What's so great about this card?

    well, vezina is one of the most storied goalies in hockey history and his name will live on forever, as it is attached to the award given annually to the league's top goaltender. (i guess a baseball analogue would be cy young.) also, C cards are almost impossible to find in mint, or even nm-mt, condition. basically, this is one of the most famous cards in hockey collecting and its condition is otherworldly. not sure that it's a $100,000 card - at least not in this economy - but it is that great of a card.

    As much as that seller gets beat up around here, I have to say that they come across some monster cards.
