I know of a couple forum members from the SLC area, I'm sure they'll be headed out there to that show. I wish I could go and say hi. Hope you all enjoy.

Found this nice XF45 half there. Nicest barber half I have found at the salt lake show. Man I love coin shows!

The show started a little slow but built during the day. A couple of eager collectors couldn't wait so purchased an early bird pass to get first pick on the offerings.
The weather was nice after heavy rains earlier in the week and I'm sure many people took advantage of that rather than being inside at the show. There were also other events taking place that gave the show some competition.
All the tables got sold so the Token club will benefit from that.
Only a couple of dealers complained of things being slow but their inventory seemed a bit limited.
Asking around, it seemed just about everything was selling with no area stronger than another.
Dealer demand was centered on key dates and better Morgans.
This is not a strong show for slabs but there were some on offer at about every table. Only the occasional ACG slab was observed.
Didn't hear of any great buys coming in the door.
It was fun and worth while and looking forward to day two.
Will look forward to greeting the forum members who can attend.

  • The show was good. I picked up a purple peace dollar that just won't image well in the middle of the day lighting, so I'm going to have to post a picture of it later.

I also got a really cool Buffalo nickle from Coulport. (The image will come later as well)
